Good intructions.

Latley in P.4 we have been learning about presedual writeing. Presedual writing is about instructions, recipes and method's. Here is a few exsamples on what makes good instrucions.

-1 Step by step: Means that it explained 1 step at a time.


-2 Deatil: Like step by step but explained which way for example: Walk. Thats not detail but this is how it should the example should of been said: Walk foward 10 metters or Walk to the end of the room or Take 1 large step.

-3 Descriptive: Means how much to turn or walk for EG: Turn 90 degreed and walk 10 meters.

-4 Appropriate verbs: Means what to do for EG: Walk,run or jump

-5 Descriptive words: Means to take little or big steps for EG: Take 1 large step and turn a little to the right.

Paper plane results

We had 5 go's with our own made paper airplanes and recorded our results.

Science fun!

For the last few days our class was doing science in the science lab.... Alot of science. Were learning how make make something called bubbles in a bottle. Basically it is like a lava lamp but it has many bubbles. We used test tubes instead. We had theses things to do it:

(1) A test tube.
(2) 1/3 cup of water.
(3) Food colouring (Red works best for me!)
(4) Oil.
(5) Fizzy tablet.

All we did is we added the water about 4 CM high, then added oil to just below the top. Then we added food colouring. The food colouring touched the top of the water. Then it went into the water. Then we added the fizzy tablet. When the tablet went into the water little bubbles start coming then a whole lot of them. The food colouring gave the bubbles gave its colour. I saw something surrounding the bubbles. It look like spikes kind of thing. It was really the fizzy. It went well. Very well.:-)

Mokia's family food and fun fair!

On the 4/04/13, Mokoia intermediate school had a Family Food and Fun fair. The place was full of different activities and games. It was $1 for 1 ticket. Most game coasted 2 tickets. There was an area where they did quick fire raphels. Basically if they call your letter out you get to take home a bucket full of goodies. Our class games were whack the rat and sponge the teacher. Whack the rat was fun but hard. They roll down and apple potato, apple and a nut. Sponge the teacher was fun but i  missing from the moving target. It was a good day. :-)

Camp review

In front of me I see the bush

In the distance I see mountains

Above me is the blue atmosphere

Below me I see grass

I can hear the waves and the breeze

In the distance I hear the rush-hour traffic

I can feel the wind

I can smell the fresh air

It makes me feel joyfull!

Norm Hewitt

On Tuesday on the 26/03/13, Ex-All Black and winner of dancing with the stars 2005 Norm Hewitt, came to Mokoia and talked to us on behalf of the SPCA. He also had a presentation to share with us. He talked about how to treat animals with kindness and respect. He is really good at speaking and funny and very good story teller. He had an assistant named Whaea Shelly. He also talked about the 5 freedoms. He was really inspiring of us to treat animals with kindness and respect. I think it was AWESOME!!!!!
